Postcard images, recognized text, and OCR results stay on the device. On Android, the bundled Google ML Kit SDK receives limited technical diagnostics and usage metrics, including device and app information, a per-installation identifier, performance, configuration, event, and error information. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties. Postcard Archive's developer does not receive it.
The App Store or Google Play may also be contacted to load a price, complete or restore a purchase, and verify access. This notice supersedes any older statement below that says the app uses no analytics or makes no network request when the map is closed. The English policy controls and contains full details.

Checked June 29, 2026. This page was compared with the public App Store and Google Play listings. Where a store privacy or data-safety label was visible, it said the developer does not collect user data.
Accurate app behavior: Archive entries, photos, OCR/transcriptions, captions, dates, locations, stamp notes, and exports stay local. The optional Places map may contact Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, or the OS geocoder only for map tiles or place lookup; store systems handle purchase, restore, refund, receipt, or price display. No accounts, ads, analytics, tracking, or developer backend are used.
Postcard Archive is an offline-first app for organizing postcard scans, notes, collections, and exports. It has no account, no ads, no analytics, and stores your content on your device.
The app stores the information you create or choose to save in the app on your device. This may include settings, notes, photos, documents, journal entries, study material, or other app-specific content.
The app does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, advertising identifiers, contacts, or usage analytics for the developer.
The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or cross-app tracking SDKs.
If you export, share, or back up app content, you choose the destination. That destination may have its own privacy practices.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
