Each case opens at your local midnight, based on your device's timezone. Tokyo and Los Angeles both see "today's case" on their own calendar date — it's the same case for every detective, just on each player's local day.
Your streak tracks daily solves. An available streak freeze can protect a missed day; without enough freezes, a gap breaks the streak. You can still play a missed case from the cold-case archive, but replaying it does not add to your daily streak.
After solving (or closing the case unsolved), tap the share button on the reveal screen. The share grid shows your solve time, evidence examined, false leads, and rank — never the culprit, weapon, or motive.
Inquest has no developer-run analytics, advertising, tracking, or gameplay backend. Your case progress is stored on your device. Gameplay works offline; purchases and restores use Apple or Google billing services and require a connection. Optional Game Center features on Apple devices use Apple services. Android includes Google Play Billing and the Google Play in-app review library. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
Game Center is optional. If you can't sign in, the app still works — your rating and streak are saved locally. If a leaderboard isn't updating, check that Game Center is enabled in Settings → Game Center on your device.
Yes — the cold-case archive holds every past case. Replaying a case does not change your detective rating or daily streak.
