Shuny Shade has no developer account system, advertising, or developer-operated analytics or tracking backend. Calculations, camera processing, obstruction horizons, saved properties and spots, and settings are handled locally. Files you export or share, and copies handled by your device’s backup or file provider, follow the destination service’s settings and policies. The connected services described below receive limited data needed to provide their functions.
If you choose Sky Scan, camera frames are processed on the device and are not uploaded by Shuny Shade. The manual horizon editor remains available without camera access.
If you choose to use device location, Shuny Shade requests a current approximate location fix to calculate the sun path; it does not track location in the background. You may instead enter or place a location manually.
On Android, when you open an interactive map, the app requests the OpenStreetMap tiles needed for the visible map area from the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Those HTTPS requests necessarily reveal the requested map-tile area and ordinary network information such as IP address and the app identifier to that service. Shuny Shade does not use those requests for advertising or profiling and does not operate an intermediary server. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
On Android, when you choose to look up an address, it is passed to the device’s system geocoding service, which may use a network service to resolve it. The geocoding provider depends on the device. You may instead place a location manually; interactive maps still make the tile requests described above.
On iOS, maps use Apple MapKit. An address you enter for lookup is sent to Apple’s geocoding service. Map requests reveal the viewed area and network information to Apple. Location permission is requested only when you choose device location; you can place a location manually instead. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
This application runs on Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which is provided by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Shuny Shade uses device motion and camera tracking for its optional guided scan. It does not use ARCore Cloud Anchors or the ARCore Geospatial API.
Google states that ARCore collects a signed-in Google account identifier or a device identifier, performance and diagnostic information, and ARCore API usage/app activity for analytics, diagnostics, and service improvement. Google states that this information is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties. See Google's ARCore data-safety disclosure and the Google Privacy Policy.
On iOS and Android, you can start the three-day trial locally in the app. Apple or Google Play handles the one-time paid unlock on its platform. Buying or restoring access connects to the applicable store, which handles localized prices, payment information, purchase history, and refunds under its policies. Shuny Shade receives verified purchase state to determine access; Rizk Corsight does not receive your payment card or store account credentials.
If you choose to leave an in-app review on Android, Google Play receives your rating and any review text. Reviews are public on Google Play, or shared privately with the developer during closed testing. You can delete your review through Google Play or your Google account. Optional reminders are scheduled locally. Imported and exported Shuny Shade files and Sun Report PDFs are handled only at your direction through your platform’s file and share interfaces. Saved app records remain on your device until you delete them, empty the in-app trash, clear app storage where available, or uninstall the app. Exported files and device backups must be managed separately with their file or backup provider. Data handled by Apple, Google, or the OpenStreetMap Foundation is retained under their respective policies.
Shuny Shade is a general-audience planning utility. It does not knowingly request a name, email address, account, or other direct contact information from children.
Shuny Shade’s own network requests use HTTPS. System services, including address lookup, are provided by your device’s configured provider and follow that provider’s security and privacy practices. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
