Nine Steeps - Privacy Policy

Nine Steeps is a local-first tea timer and tasting journal. We do not sell personal data, run ads, use analytics or tracking, or require an account.

Scope

This policy covers Nine Steeps on Android, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Data Stored By The App

Nine Steeps can store tea profiles, brew sessions, tasting notes, cellar inventory entries, app settings, and Pro entitlement status. This data is stored locally on your device.

• On Android, app data is stored in Android app-private storage and private SharedPreferences. Android cloud backup is disabled for Nine Steeps.
• On Apple platforms, app data is stored locally with Apple's SwiftData framework and related app containers used by the iPhone app, Apple Watch app, and widgets.

Purchases

Nine Steeps is a free download with an optional one-time Pro unlock. Android purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Apple purchases are processed by Apple StoreKit.

The app may store entitlement status so Pro features stay available after purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Exports And Sharing

If you choose to export your library or tasting archive, Android opens the system share sheet and Apple platforms use the system sharing flow. The destination you choose, such as a notes app, email app, cloud drive, or messaging app, handles that exported copy under its own privacy practices.

Permissions And System Services

• Android vibration permission is used only for timer feedback.
• Android billing permission is used only for the optional one-time Pro unlock.
• Apple UserNotifications may be used for timer reminders if you grant permission.
• Apple ActivityKit may be used for Live Activities during active brewing sessions.
• Apple WatchConnectivity may be used to sync the active brewing session between iPhone and a paired Apple Watch.

Nine Steeps does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or advertising ID access.

Third Parties

Nine Steeps does not include advertising, analytics, attribution, tracking, or crash reporting. Payment processing is handled by Google Play or Apple StoreKit when you choose to make a purchase.

Deleting Data

Deleting the app removes the local data stored by Nine Steeps on that device. Exported copies and marketplace purchase records are controlled by the services where they were created.

Children

Nine Steeps is intended for tea drinkers and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated policy will be posted here. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
