Insect Discover — Privacy Policy

Your privacy

Insect Discover does not require a user account with the developer and has no ads, tracking, analytics service, or developer server. Photo matching runs on your device using a bundled model. Rizk Corsight, LLC does not receive your identification photos, observation log, or learning history.

Photos, observations, and device storage

The app stores the photos you choose or capture, suggested matches, saved observations, learning progress, and settings on your device. You can delete saved observations in the app. Removing the app normally removes its local app data; original photos in your photo library and files you export remain under your control. Apple Keychain purchase or trial records may remain after removal. Device backups or transfers managed by your operating system may include eligible app data, depending on your device settings. The developer does not operate those services or receive those backups.

Camera and photo selection

Camera access is optional and lets you take a photograph for identification. The system photo picker lets you select an existing image. The app does not scan or upload your photo library. You can manage camera access in your device settings.

Stores, downloads, and external services

Identification does not send your photo to a server. Apple and Google services may use a network connection for app or asset downloads, purchase information, purchases, restoration, and purchase verification. Links you open and files you choose to share are handled by the services or destinations you select, under their own policies. These activities are separate from on-device photo matching.

Access and purchases

The app includes three days of full access. After that, continued access requires an optional one-time purchase. The trial does not renew or charge automatically, and there is no subscription. Apple or Google processes payment; the developer does not receive payment-card details. Local purchase and trial records help manage access. Restoring purchases may require the store account used for the purchase and an internet connection.

On Android, this purchase requirement does not apply while a valid access code is active. A valid code gives you all features for free, with no time limit. Android also stores on the device whether access-code access is active.

Children and learning

The developer does not collect personal information through the app from children or other users. Store services and any external destination you choose have their own privacy terms. Identification suggestions can be wrong; compare visible features and do not rely on a suggestion for wildlife-handling or safety decisions.
